Highways Café is an exciting outreach ministry that provides meals at no cost to needy people in the district. On average 200 people come for a meal and chat.

While this outreach brings a large number of people into the church whereby we can share the wonderful news of our Lord and give them a taste of the hope we enjoy, the ministry has brought together a number of people whose enthusiastic participation in the work has resulted in a close-knit group who can share and grow together in the Lord as they minister to the lost.

The kitchen team is intent on providing quality, nutritious meals in an environment where the people who come are treated as special guests. Café grade crockery, cutlery and tablecloths as used to ensure a restaurant feel.

Of course, such a large scale work requires a willing team of volunteers who can help with a number of jobs including cooking, preparation, welcoming guests, sweeping the floor, serving on tables, washing dishes—even just listening to ‘their stories’, and more.
